Making Music. Making A Difference.

Mission Statement

The Questell Foundation is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping legendary

local and regional musicians struggling with financial and/or health issues, and to preserving Blues and other forms of traditional music. We do this by sponsoring fundraising events, providing education to the community, and by providing assistance to musicians who perform these uniquely American genres of music.

History

The Questell Foundation was created in honor of my parents, Robert and Patricia Questell. Growing up, my parents taught me the values of honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, and respect for others. In addition, my parents taught me that we are all called to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. My father passed away in 1998, but I can still hear his words echo in my memory; “always do the right thing.”

When my son Drew began playing Blues music in the Triangle Area of North Carolina and we began meeting local musicians, we quickly realized that many of these wonderful and talented musicians were struggling with health and financial issues. Drew had the idea that we should try to do something to help. As a result, we decided to “do the right thing” and in early 2009, The Questell Foundation was born.

We would like to invite you to help us in our quest to support and preserve the Blues; the cornerstone of American music. Thank you for visiting our website and for your valuable support.

Warmest regards,

Andrew Questell, President
